The Republic of India, often referred as India is a big and a beautiful country which is rich in diversity. Languages in India
As mentioned earlier, India is a vast country with cultural diversity. There are as many as 325 languages spoken in India. According to the Indian Constitution, Hindi is the official national language of India. Hindi is also the mother tongue of over 20% of the Indian population, especially in northern India. English language is the second official language that is used in India. The best part of India is that, there are 27 states in India and each state has its own official language. But majority of the people in urban areas can speak Engilsh.
Weather in India
India has different types of weather in different parts of the country. It has a good climate with mainly four seasons. They are summer, monsoon, post-monsoon and winter.
Summer Season (Pre-Mansoon)
Summer also called as pre-monsoon season starts in April and lasts till the month of June. The hottest season in southern India is April, and for northern India, May is the hottest month with a temperature as high as 44 degree celsius in some of the places.
Monsoon or the rainy season starts soon after summer, that is, from June to September. The southern part of the country receives heavy rainfall when compared to other parts.
Post monsoon season
Post mansoon season starts from the October and lasts till December. During this time of the year, the weather in India is said to be very pleasant.
Winter season starts in December and lingers till the month of March. December and January are said to the coldest months, when the temperature in northern India drops down to around 10 degree Celsius, whereas in the southern regions it ranges from 20 to 25 degree Celsius.

Kolkata, formerly called as Calcutta is the capital of West Bengal and has a population of over ten million people. It is located in eastern India on the banks of the river Hooghly. Kolkata is the main business hub of eastern India. The official language of Kolkata is Bengali. There are many places in Kolkata that will interests you. A few of them are the Howrah Bridge, Victoria Memorial, Shahid Minar, The Armenian Church, Rabindra Sarani, and the Belur Matt, which is the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission.
The former capital of Gujarat, Ahmedabad is the seventh largest metropolis of India. It is named after its founder, Sultan Ahmed Shah in the early 14th Century. The city is mainly associated with the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, who was born in this city. Ahmedabad is a textile centre of India. The retail Industry is one of the largest employers in the city. There are many places to visit in Ahmadabad. Mumbai, formerly called as Bombay, is located on the west coast of India. It is the capital city of Maharashtra. It is the second most populated city in the entire world with a population of around 15 million. Mumbai is also the richest city in India since it is the most industrialized city of the country. Being a commercial and entertainment centre, it is the liveliest city in the entire country. Let us highlight a few places to visit in Mumbai.
